I'd like to nominate. I've been following D&D Next since it was but a rumor and playtested it with my normal RPG group during the early editions of the play test materials. Since the playtest released I've been active in the asking and answering of questions on the subject and would love to be able to continue to do so when the final editions are ...

I nominate myself. Why I think I'm a valid candidate Playtest Experience - I've been playing the D&D Next Playtest for pretty much the whole way through. I've seen the various iterations on what will become D&D 5e at each stage, partaking in the feedback surveys as well as critically following the news and discussions occurring surrounding the ...

Why Should You Vote for Me? I'm a regular on the site. I check the site several times a day, and I've been around long enough to know all the ins & outs of how the site is supposed to work. I like answering questions. As of this post I have 200 answers and 8 questions. I like reading rule books. In high school I participated in a mock Congress. While I ...

Over on Arqade, they sometimes have "release events" for new, high-profile videogames such as Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim. Most often these are contests, to motivate asking and answering questions about the game. The StackExchange Community Promotion Archive has overviews of past promotions, to get an idea of what they're like. The releases of Skyrim and Diablo ...

I would like to throw my hat in the ring, but I don't feel comfortable marketing myself at the expense of others. Its for that reason that I prefer a more objective criteria than who can write the better election post. I play in a weekly group in person, and am currently playing in 5 online games. I feel I could contribute a lot to this site and be able ...

I nominate myself. As the owner of The Bronze Coin, a physical location for groups to meet and roleplay, I'm in a unique position to share the physical materials with several groups DMed by various people. I would make it clear to players and DMs when they start their games just exactly where the materials came from and encourage them to ask their own ...

The first raffle period has closed! Thanks to everyone who participated in it! In total, 98 upvoted questions from 47 users were generated in the time period, for 98 total tickets earned. An interesting observation from this, 36% of question askers (17 in total) were newly registered at some point after July 15th, which is a pretty healthy amount of new ...

How about “Q&A” written in some fantasy style, and where in we attempt (difficult though it will be) to out-ampersand them.

Users have been selected to get the books from the Nominations thread and have been emailed for their physical addresses by Grace Note/the SE team.

Ok, I'm going to take a stab at this. We're a bigger site than Sports.SE (by a good bit), so I'm guessing beyond just a call for questions, we should probably make an effort to try to treat this more like a new product push on Arqade complete with limited prize support and if possible a community supported site redesign (GN mentioned SE not wanting to ...

I'm Grace Note, a Stack Exchange Community Manager. There's still some active discussion going on internally about specifics. Getting some advance copies would probably be handy but we'd need some kind of way to determine how to distribute them, and then when launch hits it would be handy to have some kind of promotional call for questions so that the ...

First, we must make sure all of our dnd-next answers are updated for the latest edition. We don't want any playtest stuff getting dragged in. Query for the easy checking of updates: http://data.stackexchange.com/rpg/query/186581/dd-next-playtest-queries Second, at the very least, we may want to have a hangouts-on-air mass reading of the books when they're ...

Cross-post. I'm sure most gamers have no idea this place exists. Large online DnD communities exist, answering questions in threads there by linking here will vastly increase user uptake. Since the stated goal of this site is to create linkable answers to questions, it's not even a shoddy means of poaching users.

The second raffle period has closed! Thanks to everyone who participated in it! In total, 171 upvoted questions from 70 users were generated in the time period. Let's check out some statistics on those numbers! 18 users who participated in the first raffle participated in the second raffle, and contributed 60 questions between them. Of the above numbers, 4 ...

What is the willingness of SE and this site to accept and integrate a fan created design into the site design. We'll be trying to put our best foot forward and look professional. It has to let our site design look professional, and help us appeal to the audience we're targeting. Our willingness to accept a fan created design (of art or whatever) will be ...

The third and final raffle period has closed! Thanks to everyone who participated, not just in this round but in any of the rounds! It's been a wonderful run for this contest. For the third raffle period, 197 upvoted questions from 93 users were generated. I'll have more detailed statistics on not just the participation in this round in this post, and ...

I'm making a dark stab here. Point 1 and Point 2 should be discussed in different question. But let's talk about Point 3. How's about licensing ? The trouble is, the system license for D&D Next doesn't even... exist. (I assume?) This is the one used for 4e Now let's take a stab and read the policy. 5.7 Imagery. For the avoidance of doubt and ...
